Teddy Beurre House at The Hyundai Seoul: One of Seoul’s Top 3 Croissants (and a Fig Danish to Remember)

📍 Seoul / Yeouido · The Hyundai Seoul B1

This visit was sponsored by Teddy Beurre House. As always, all opinions are my own.

I never understood people who line up for a croissant. This time, I was one of them. Teddy Beurre House is a bakery on the B1 floor of The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido, and all three pastries I tried were winners — the fig danish especially.

An award-winning chef’s bakery

The entrance shows off its résumé. A banner celebrates the win on tvN’s cooking show “Street Restaurant Fighter,” and the chef also appeared on the Netflix competition “Culinary Class Wars 2.” The croissant has been featured on Korean TV as one of Seoul’s top three, and inside you will see a “Seoul’s Top 3 Croissant” sign. If you search for food at The Hyundai Seoul, this name keeps coming up.

It feels like a little corner of Paris

The name means “a house of teddies full of butter.” The space is filled with wooden furniture and antiques, the walls are covered in Paris postcards and old photos, and even flour sacks are used as decor. The teddy-bear drawings and cups are adorable. You can eat in, but seats fill up fast.

So many pastries to choose from

Pastries are piled up like mountains. Beyond the classic croissant, you will find pistachio kouign-amann, almond croissant, egg tart croissant, pudding croissant, pizza croissant and matcha cream croissant. The milk castella croissant is covered in yellow crumbs, and the fig danish is topped with a whole fresh fig. They use Lescure butter from France.

Takeout picnic at the Han River

I took mine to go — the paper bag is so pretty I photographed it first — and walked to Yeouido Hangang Park to lay out a picnic mat. The river is a short walk from The Hyundai Seoul, so this makes a perfect Seoul date or afternoon plan.

What I tried

### Fig danish croissant (₩7,200) — the star A generous amount of fresh fig sits on a layer of cream that is not heavy at all. The figs were firm, not mushy, and perfectly sweet. I have never seen fig this good at a bakery in Yeouido.

Pistachio kouign-amann (₩6,800) — the signature

Pistachios are packed on top, the outside is crisp and the inside keeps its flaky layers, with that caramelized kouign-amann taste. If I could only pick one dessert in Yeouido, it would be this.

Milk castella croissant (₩6,500)

A classic croissant filled with milk cream and coated in castella crumbs. The fresh milk cream is delicious and light, so it disappears fast. It would also make a nice gift.

Zoapik’s verdict

– Fig danish ₩7,200 — exceptional fresh figs and light cream – Pistachio kouign-amann ₩6,800 — the signature, crisp and high quality – Milk castella croissant ₩6,500 — light, delicious milk cream – Award-winning chef, featured as one of Seoul’s top three croissants – Paris-style interior that is fun to look around – On B1 of The Hyundai Seoul, an easy walk to Yeouido Hangang Park – Heads-up: seats fill up quickly — takeout to the river is a great option – Heads-up: closing time differs by day (20:00 Mon–Thu, 20:30 Fri–Sun)

I finally get why people line up. Next time I am trying the egg tart croissant.
