Osulloc at Shinsegae Times Square, Yeongdeungpo: Jeju Green Tea Ice Cream Without Flying to Jeju
📍 Seoul / Yeongdeungpo · Shinsegae Dept. Store Yeongdeungpo, B1
On my last Jeju trip there was one thing I really wanted to eat: Osulloc green tea ice cream. My schedule was so packed that I flew home without it, and everyone kept telling me how good it was. It stayed on my mind — until I finally had one in Seoul, right by Yeongdeungpo Station.

Where to find it
Osulloc is on the basement floor (B1) of Shinsegae Department Store, which links straight to Yeongdeungpo Station and to the Times Square mall. It is only about 195 m from Exit 6, so it is an easy stop even on a rainy day, or a sweet break in the middle of shopping.
Walk toward the back of the shop and you will see the big Osulloc logo on a warm wooden wall. Even inside a busy department store, it feels calm and tidy.

Good to know: everything is takeout
This is the most important tip. Every item on the menu is takeout only, and there is nowhere to sit. I actually found it handy — I just carried my cone around while I browsed. On a nice day you can also eat it outside.

The menu
The main menu is on a screen and is split into tea, matcha specials, o’freddo, ice cream and bakery. There are more choices than I expected, so I needed a minute to decide. The wall also has pictures of the signature items: the signature matcha latte, the Jeju forest matcha einspänner, matcha milk, o’freddo and soft ice cream.

The soft ice cream comes in two flavors, matcha and milk, and both are ₩5,800. The sign says it is made with top-grade Jeju matcha for a rich flavor — that alone got me excited.

Matcha cakes and roll cakes
The dessert case is so pretty. The matcha green really pops, and the green tea roll cake caught my eye right away. Cake slices are around ₩7,000 and whole cakes are about ₩25,000 — not bad if you want to bring a dessert to a friend’s place.

Half the shop is a tea store
About half of the store is a tea shop, and it carries the same products you would find in Jeju. Colorful tea-bag boxes line the shelves, and I had fun reading the descriptions to choose a scent. Some items were on a 4+1 deal when I visited.

The premium line has its own display, and the packaging is gorgeous. There were also holiday gift sets, wrapped so nicely that anyone would be happy to get one. If you need a souvenir from Korea that is light, pretty and easy to pack, tea is a lovely choice.

Finally: the green tea ice cream
I ordered the matcha soft serve in a cone. The color hit me first — not pale mint, but a deep, dark green. You can tell there is a lot of matcha in it.

The first bite is properly strong green tea. But it is not just bitter: a soft, honey-like sweetness comes through at the end. It is not too sweet, so I never got tired of it, and it tastes much more elegant than a normal green tea ice cream.

The cone stayed crispy to the very end, and the portion was bigger than I expected, so it took me a while to finish. On a hot day, eat it fast!
Having missed it in Jeju, I was so glad to try it in Seoul. Next time I am in Jeju, though, I still want to visit the Osulloc Tea Museum — and next time here I am trying the matcha latte.
Zoapik’s verdict
– Rich Jeju matcha with a gentle honey-like finish – Soft ice cream ₩5,800, in matcha or milk – Pretty matcha cakes and roll cakes for dessert – Tea gift sets that make easy, light souvenirs – B1 of Shinsegae, about 195 m from Yeongdeungpo Station Exit 6 – A cool, indoor stop while shopping at Times Square – Heads-up: everything is takeout only, so there are no seats
If you missed Osulloc in Jeju like I did, this is the easiest way to make up for it. Just know you will be eating it on your feet.
