Oneul Naui Jewelry, Jongno: Couple Rings, Wedding Bands and a Milgrain Guard Ring in Seoul’s Gold Street

📍 Seoul / Jongno · Jongno 5-ga Stn. (Line 1) Exit 1

This visit was sponsored by Oneul Naui Jewelry. As always, all opinions are my own.

Jongno is Seoul’s jewelry district, and there are so many gold shops packed together that it is hard to know where to start. I had been searching for a milgrain guard ring (a slim band with tiny beaded edges that you stack with another ring) when I found Oneul Naui Jewelry. The name means “My Jewelry Today”, and after one visit I understood why people recommend it.

Finding it

It was easier than I expected. Get off at Jongno 5-ga Station, walk into the side street where you see the IBK bank, and you will reach the central gate of Hyosung Jewelry City. Head straight in to the central line, then turn right toward the restrooms. The shop is right there, and its unit number, J099, is on the sign.

Why I went

Honestly, I was not there to order wedding bands on the spot. I wanted to sort out some old gold and silver pieces, find out what ring styles suit my hand, and see what is trendy for wedding bands right now. So it was just a light, casual consultation.

The vibe was lovely from the moment I walked in. It was a weekday, but quite a few couples were already there getting advice. Even while they were busy, the staff and the owner greeted everyone kindly, one by one. That first impression made me trust them right away.

The consultation

I am very indecisive, so I asked a million questions. “What kind of hand does this design suit?” “Is this okay for everyday wear?” “Will I get bored of a wedding band later?” Nobody looked annoyed even once.

They looked at my hand shape and my taste, then only brought out designs that would really suit me. That was the key point for me. It never felt like they were pushing the most expensive thing. It was more like, “This one is your style,” and they were right.

Comparing diamonds

They showed me so many diamonds, too. I could compare regular diamonds, natural diamonds and lab-grown diamonds side by side, and they explained the differences calmly and simply. There is a 4Cs board on the counter if you want to brush up on cut, color, clarity and carat.

A 28-year family workshop

Something I learned during the consultation: Oneul Naui Jewelry has run its own workshop in Jongno for 28 years, now in its second generation. That explains the huge range of designs, and why people say the prices are reasonable for the market rate. They can make wedding bands, couple rings and silver couple rings themselves, which made me trust them even more. They also buy gold, and say they guarantee the best price.

So many designs

What really surprised me was the range. Here is what I saw: – Wedding bands and couple rings – Pure gold rings, necklaces and bracelets – Gold bars and silver bars – 1-carat diamonds and pearl sets – Rings for the parents of the couple – Earrings, necklaces, bracelets and “miss rings” (rings for unmarried women) – Friendship rings and kids’ ID necklaces and bracelets – Silver jewelry and silver couple rings

There are lots of less common designs, so if you hate wearing the same thing as everyone else, you will have fun here.

Zoapik’s verdict

– They read your taste well and suggest designs with no pressure – Prices felt reasonable for the market rate – Their own workshop for 28 years, two generations – Huge range, from couple rings to pure gold and diamonds – Calm, easy explanations, even for diamond beginners – The owner’s energy is like a vitamin, so the whole consultation felt fun – Heads-up: it is inside a big jewelry mall, so follow the directions above or you may wander for a while

If you are looking at couple rings or wedding bands in Seoul, start here. I think one visit will help you narrow down what you really want.
